Puru Gaur is the Director of Commercial Intelligence & Research Services at Norstella, where he helps clients understand the data behind multi-billion-dollar decisions. He's spent his career translating the chaos of biopharma — the deals, the data, the regulatory chess moves — into decisions executives can actually act on.
His career spans Biogen, PhRMA, AmerisourceBergen (now Cencora), EVERSANA, Vir Biotechnology, and Norstella. He holds an MPH in Health Policy and Management from Emory University and an MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Arizona.
Why build all this?
Competitive intelligence has a packaging problem. The insights are world-class; the delivery is a 60-slide deck that dies in an inbox. Puru started The RX Signal to fix the delivery — same rigor, served like a story you'd actually finish. Game theory underneath, plain English on top, and a scoring system honest enough to tell you when something is noise.
The same instinct built the rest: if an industry runs on information asymmetry — real estate, car buying, restaurants, web design — there's a version of the Signal for it. Six ventures, one operating system.
The operating principles
Every company Puru founds runs on ten principles. The first two tell you everything:
1. Give back to the next generation — "plant trees under the shade of which we do not expect to sit."
2. Transparency — every decision runs through Puru; anything AI-generated gets verified by a human, because people can lie.

Beyond the desk
Puru volunteers as a Taekwondo instructor for children in underserved areas and serves as a public-health advisor with Ladybug for Girls, an Atlanta nonprofit. He's exploring part-time doctoral study in health economics while staying in industry — his research interest is the societal value of vision restoration.
